ScRach Marcs are a couple made up of Rachel and Marcus, who are best known for their specialisation in the dance style of Popping.
Who is ScRach Marcs, tell us more about yourself?
ScRach is “Rach” and MarcS is “Marc”. We are both dancers who believe in leaving a mark (“scratch”) on everyone who has watched our performances.
How did the two of you get into dancing?
Marcus: My interest began after my friend showed me the movie “You got served” and that sparked an inner fire. I started finding more clips of dancers and gradually found my way into a dance studio. This is where I met Rachel.
SRJC dance club was my first brush with dancing. My instructors and seniors were all dancing at the same studio, and made my first moves in the same studio.
What motivates and inspires you?
The blaring sounds of the alarm clock, the first breath of air we take in the morning – these simple things motivate us everyday. It reminds us that we are alive and all things are possible as the future is still unwritten and for us to write our destiny.
Tell us about one of our latest adventure!
We recently visited Japan. It’s a shopping haven for us, as we love vintage clothing! The food is always great quality wherever you go, whether it is a small nook in the wall or a fancy restaurant in town. Everything is perfect in its place that it feels almost surreal.
This time we managed to stop by our favourite sushi joint – Sushi Masa, for an Omakase dinner which lasted more than 3 hours. It was a short trip but definitely filled out hearts, minds, suitcases and bellies.
What are your 5 must-have when your travel?
An extra pair of sneakers, a set of comfortable pyjamas, you can never forget music, extra luggage space and definitely cool travel outfits like our MATTER jumpsuits and pants!
We are inspired by Rachel and Marc’s love for dance and movement, and are proud to have them as Fieldtesters, a group of inspiring friends that regularly test MATTER products in their workplace and trails to help us improve
durability and design. Rachel is wearing The Jump-In Romper + Vahi, Size 1, and Marc is wearing The Modern Monpe + Chambray Black, Size 2.
